Hello cats and kittens....or other types of animals. O____O|
I just joined this community, mostly because the man and I are into gaming, and because we both know VERY few people to no one here. :0( Most of the people we know are acquaintances, or they are friends who are leaving. We'd like to meet some new people, and to possibly join in on some games.
My man and I do console games, but I've always had an interest in D&D...I played ages ago...and a friend is trying to get me into Orpheus which looks neat. We play risk (again it's been ages...mostly because it feels lame to play those types of games alone or with two people. :0P) So this is an almost whiney plea.
I need/he needs to meet some new people/get back into our hobbies. :0) Does anyone wanna meet up sometime?? *hopeful smile* We're old (aka 25........hahahaha). I hope that someone is interested in making some new friends!!
EDIT: I should add that the man is into the idea of doing some D&D/good old fashioned gaming too. i don't want to make him sound like he's ONLY into consoles. :0)

Hallo! I'm an RPG author guy who lives locally.
While I can't promise anything, I may be looking for playtesters for a high fantasy game later this year.
Other than that, have you tried the "Gamers Looking for Gamers" book at Bayshore Hobbies?
I have not. :0) We are there often enough, so I shall have to check it out. :0)
I too am an RPG author type guy who will be living locally very soon.
I have added you to my flist. If you happen to playtest for pyat
then I am sure our paths will cross.
woooooohooooo. My posts are kinda boring right now (warning in advance). ;0) I will add you too. :0)
I'm hoping to get together with some people for coffee and to discuss games...get reco. reading in advance of joining a game, since my D&D stuff went the wayside in grad school. I need refreshers...and I'd like to meet gamer nerds like me! hehehe.
Another "old" RPGer here. Not into DnD, but if you ever want to try Exalted, give me a shout.
I'm shouting! What is the game about? Gimme a brief summary...if it's like Orpheus (which sounds neato), I'm game. :0)
Thank you, I will read up on it...but the demi-god bit has already, partially, won me over. :0)
There are 5 main types of demi-gods, with 3 or 5 sub-types:
Solar: these are the default good-guys.
-Dusk/Artisan types (including healer and scholar)
Lunars: these are usually barbarians
-Full Moon/warrior types
-Changing Moon/trickster types
-No Moon/magic using types
Terrestial (aka Dragon Blooded): the default villians because they control the world
Sidrial: weavers of fate who aren't often seen
-Mars/fighting and battle types
-Venus/improving quality of life types
-Saturn/bringers of the end types
Abyssles: EVIL EVIL EVIL!!!!
-Dawn/Artisan types (including healer and scholar)
-Moon Shadow/ambasator types
And I say "types" because it's easy to take skills and powers that are cross-typical. (Ie, a warrior who is also a black-smith and who can pick locks/pockets). But their first type defines what their main abilities are.
Hmm.. as I've stared before, I'm awful at D&D, but then, I'm still on my first ever character, so I guess that's alright. We're currently trying to find a few other people to show up for our Oriental Adventures game, because most people seem to always be working, and one of the people who's here every game is really getting on my/the DM's nerves. (And of course, if he goes, his friend goes, and we're stuck with 2, maybe 3 characters. =/) Seems like every time he makes a new character, it turns into a bitch fest because he wants all the other PCs to "get along with him" while he doesn't want to get along with them. And then we argue about it for a few hours, ruining a good portion of the night, until everything is resolved and dandy, and then his character dies, and it starts all over again! (Oh, geek-boi drama! ARGH!) Hehe, sounds pathetic, doesn't it? I should stop whining, but I'm still a little miffed about last nights' game, sowwy. =(
Anyway! You're not old, I'm 21 and the boi is 23, and my dear, you've just said the magic word: Coffee!
